Marine and aquaculture monitoring is a growing area for Flux Enviro, building on our established capabilities in water quality instrumentation, environmental monitoring, telemetry and monitoring system design.
Our offering ranges from water sampling and handheld water-quality instruments through to multiparameter profiling, continuous monitoring and remotely accessible monitoring stations. Equipment is available for purchase or rental, supporting routine site measurements, individual surveys, research programmes and permanent installations.
Marine environments present particular measurement challenges, including salinity, biofouling, changing water depth, currents, difficult access and exposed deployment locations. Equipment and deployment methods therefore need to be selected around both the required data and the conditions in which measurements will be made.

Water quality is central to many marine and aquaculture applications. Measurements may range from a single dissolved oxygen reading through to high-resolution profiling or continuously deployed multiparameter instrumentation.
Flux Enviro supplies and supports YSI water-quality instrumentation, including ProDSS and ProSolo handheld systems and EXO multiparameter sondes.

For longer-term deployments, successful monitoring requires more than instrument selection. Biofouling, sensor cleaning, mounting, power, communications, site access and maintenance intervals all influence data quality and system reliability.
Aquaculture Monitoring
Reliable water-quality information can support both routine aquaculture management and investigation of changing environmental conditions.
Handheld or continuously deployed instrumentation can be used to monitor dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, pH, turbidity, chlorophyll and other relevant parameters, depending on the application.
Continuous measurements provide additional insight where conditions can change rapidly, allowing operators and researchers to identify diurnal variation, seasonal trends and short-duration water-quality events that may not be apparent from periodic measurements alone.
Where required, monitoring stations can incorporate remote data access and configurable alarms to provide greater visibility of conditions at individual or multiple sites.
