AMS Multi-Stage Sludge & Sediment Sampler

Core Sampling for Saturated Sludge & Sediment

The AMS Multi-Stage Sludge & Sediment Sampler is designed to collect relatively undisturbed core samples from saturated sediments, sludge and other soft materials. Its modular construction allows additional sampler sections and liners to be added where longer continuous samples are required.

During sampling, a vented top cap allows displaced air and water to escape as material enters the liner. A disposable core catcher helps retain the sample during retrieval, while a rubber check flap closes the top vents to create suction and further improve sample recovery. This design is particularly effective when sampling soft, saturated materials that can be difficult to retain with conventional core samplers.

Optional valved core and auger tips are available to improve sample recovery in very loose, non-cohesive saturated materials. Additional extension sections can also be fitted to accommodate longer liners and increase sample length.
