Peat or Utility Probe

The Peat Probe is a lightweight, modular tool designed for accurately measuring peat depth during environmental surveys and habitat assessments. Widely used across peatland restoration, ecological monitoring, and land management projects, it provides a simple and reliable method for quantifying peat deposits in blanket bogs, raised bogs, fens, and other soft ground environments.

Constructed from non-conductive fibreglass, the probe is also suitable for utility and service location surveys where electrical insulation is desirable.

Accurate Peat Depth Measurement

The probe consists of a 1.2 metre handle and spiked probe, with 94 cm extension sections that can be added to achieve the required measurement depth. Its modular design allows surveyors to efficiently measure both shallow and deep peat profiles while remaining easy to transport and assemble in the field.
