Surfbee Flow Seeker Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV)
Surfbee Flow Seeker USV (SFSII)
The Surfbee Flow Seeker (SFSII) is a high-performance Autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) developed specifically for flow and bathymetric measurements using the SonTek M9 and RS5 ADCP systems. Designed for portability, manoeuvrability, and reliable operation in fast-moving water, the Flow Seeker offers a safe and efficient solution for remote hydrographic and discharge surveys.
With a maximum speed of 4 m/s, lightweight inflatable construction, and autonomous mission capabilities, the Flow Seeker expands the possibilities for modern water monitoring teams.
Built for ADCP Surveying
Purpose-built for use with SonTek M9 and RS5 ADCPs, the Flow Seeker provides a stable and flexible platform for both discharge measurement and bathymetric surveys. Its advanced autonomous control allows operators to focus on data quality while the vessel handles navigation.
Key performance features include:
Maximum operating speed of 4 m/s
Lightweight design at just 15 kg (including batteries)
Portable inflatable hull for easy transport and storage
Long-range 1 km remote controller with dust and splash protection
Purpose-built Surfbee ADCP app for measurement control
Advanced Autonomous Control
Using the integrated Surfbee app on the handheld transmitter, users can plan missions, set waypoints, and control vessel speed with precision. The system supports both moving and stationary ADCP measurements, making it ideal for flexible survey requirements.
Advanced capabilities include:
GPS-guided autonomous bathymetry surveys
Waypoint navigation and mission planning
Stationary ADCP measurements without a measuring line
Live 1080p FPV camera streaming
Real-time system monitoring and control
Safer, Smarter Workflows
The Flow Seeker improves operator safety by reducing the need for manual deployment in hazardous or hard-to-access environments, while improving consistency and repeatability of data collection.
Integrated positioning options include both differential corrections and RTK-GNSS, with shared positioning data between the USV and ADCP for simplified workflows and improved accuracy.
Flexible Deployment Options
The Flow Seeker hull can be used with its own GNSS system for manual towed measurements or equipped with its integrated thrusters for full autonomous operation, giving users maximum flexibility depending on the survey environment.
