Accurate Oil/Water Interface Measurement

The Geotech Oil/Water Interface Meter provides accurate measurement of water levels and hydrocarbon layers in monitoring wells, boreholes and tanks.

Designed for environmental monitoring and contaminated land applications, the meter uses dual-sensor technology to distinguish between conductive water and non-conductive hydrocarbon product. Clear audible and visual indicators allow operators to accurately identify the air/product and product/water interfaces, enabling both the depth and thickness of free-phase product to be determined.

The robust, field-ready design combines a lightweight reel and aluminium frame with an HDPE-coated steel-core measuring tape and field-serviceable probe, making it well suited to routine groundwater monitoring and site investigation work.

Clear Interface Detection

When the probe encounters a hydrocarbon product layer, the meter provides a continuous audible and visual indication. On contact with water, the indication changes, allowing the interface between the two liquids to be clearly identified.

This makes the Geotech Interface Meter particularly suitable for monitoring LNAPL, including fuels and oils floating on groundwater. The instrument can detect hydrocarbon layers as thin as 1mm

Designed for Field Use

The HDPE-coated steel-core tape provides a durable and clearly marked reference for accurate depth measurements and is available with metric or engineering graduations.

A narrow 5/8" (15.9 mm) diameter probe allows deployment into small-diameter monitoring points, while the adjustable reel brake, integrated buzzer and LED indication and automatic power-saving function simplify operation in the field.

Field-serviceable components help minimise downtime and extend the working life of the instrument.
