Why Isobutylene?

PID instruments can respond differently to different volatile organic compounds. Isobutylene is commonly used as the reference gas against which PID response is calibrated. Instrument-specific response factors can then be applied where measurements for particular VOCs are required.

For best results, the calibration gas concentration, regulator flow rate and calibration procedure should be selected in accordance with the PID manufacturer's recommendations.
