Isobutylene 100ppm
Isobutylene calibration gas is used for the calibration and verification of Photoionisation Detectors (PIDs) used to measure volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Supplied at a certified concentration, isobutylene provides a stable reference gas for routine PID calibration, bump testing and instrument performance checks. Regular calibration helps ensure reliable VOC measurements during environmental monitoring, contaminated land investigation, occupational hygiene and other field applications.
Isobutylene is widely used as the standard calibration gas for PID instruments, with response factors allowing concentrations of other VOCs to be estimated relative to the instrument's isobutylene response.

Why Isobutylene?
PID instruments can respond differently to different volatile organic compounds. Isobutylene is commonly used as the reference gas against which PID response is calibrated. Instrument-specific response factors can then be applied where measurements for particular VOCs are required.
For best results, the calibration gas concentration, regulator flow rate and calibration procedure should be selected in accordance with the PID manufacturer's recommendations.
