Gill MaxiMet GMX551

The Gill MaxiMet GMX551 is a compact, low-power weather station combining ultrasonic wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure and solar radiation measurement, with provision for connection of an external tipping-bucket rain gauge. This provides a comprehensive meteorological monitoring solution while allowing the rain gauge to be positioned independently of the main weather station.

Designed for fixed and remote installations, the GMX551 is particularly suited to environmental monitoring, hydrology, agriculture, research and remote monitoring networks where both solar radiation and precipitation measurements are required. Its integrated design simplifies installation compared with conventional multi-sensor weather stations, while low power consumption and multiple digital communication options support integration with data loggers and telemetry systems.

The GMX551 measures wind speed, wind direction, air temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure and solar radiation, with precipitation data from a connected tipping-bucket rain gauge and additional calculated meteorological parameters available from the instrument.
