Gill MaxiMet GMX240

The Gill MaxiMet GMX240 is a compact, low-power weather station combining ultrasonic wind speed and direction measurement with an integrated optical precipitation sensor. With no moving parts, the GMX240 provides a robust, low-maintenance solution for applications requiring reliable wind and rainfall data from a single instrument.

Designed for fixed and remote installations, the GMX240 is particularly suited to environmental monitoring, hydrology, catchment studies, agriculture, research and remote monitoring networks. Ultrasonic wind measurement eliminates the bearings, cups and vanes associated with conventional mechanical anemometers, while optical precipitation measurement avoids the moving components of a tipping-bucket rain gauge.

The GMX240 measures wind speed, wind direction, precipitation rate and accumulated precipitation, with an optional GPS module available for position, height and time information and applications requiring true wind calculation.
